Blowing Of Trumpets
Leviticus 23:23-25
23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
It is a biblical festival ordained by YeHoVaH Elohim as a holy convocation. A day of blowing trumpets, & making a joyful noise.
Seventh Month – The blowing of trumpets occurs on the seventh month, the first day in the biblical calendar.
This month is significant because it also includes the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles .
A Sabbath – It is treated as a special Sabbath, meaning no ordinary work is to be done.
Memorial of Blowing of Trumpets – Sounded as a memorial or reminder:
- The blowing of trumpets serves as a reminder of Elohim’s presence, judgment, and coming kingdom.A call to wake up spiritually and repent.
- A proclamation of YeHoVaH Elohim’s kingship and His covenant with His people.
A foreshadowing of Yeshua the Messiah’s second coming, when a great trumpet will sound (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
-
Holy Convocation (Sacred Assembly) – A time for gathering in worship, prayer, praise, and reflection.
Elohim calls His people together to honor Him.
- Offerings to YeHoVaH – In the Law as it refers to sacrifices, animal sacrifices were given as burnt offerings.
Today, since Yeshua has fulfilled the sacrificial system (Hebrews 10:10-12), we offer spiritual sacrifices such as worship, prayer, praise, thanksgiving, and repentance (Hebrews 13:15).
